About Me

I am associate professor of otorhinolaryngology and head & neck surgery, member of European Board of Otorhinolaryngolgy (EBEORL) and Union of the European Phoniatricians (UEP).

After graduating from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine which provides education in English, I completed my training in Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery with the candidate thesis “Radio-phono-surgery in benign vocal cord lesions.” I am one of the first graduates of the Laryngology (voice-larynx diseases) School established by the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and currently one of the instructors at that school. I worked as a faculty member at Anadolu University DILKOM, one of the most respected centers in Turkey for Speech and Language Therapy, where I taught courses on voice disorders at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.

In 2014, I established the first Voice Disorders Unit in the Turkish Public Hospitals Association at Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital, where I worked as the sole physician in the unit for 5 years, diagnosing and treating over 3000 patients. I have been particularly involved in research on voice disorders and vocal cord surgeries, with over 80 of my studies published in prestigious international and national journals, and I have served as an instructor at many national and international meetings, as well as chairing sessions, moderating and participating in panels at national and international congresses. I currently accept exclusiely patients with voice complaints at my clinic in Izmir, and perform vocal cord surgeries at affiliated hospitals.
